Prenatal Yoga - Indigenous Lotus
Class information:
This class offers beginner level movements and sequences for strengthening, balancing, and relaxing support to the body before, during and after pregnancy. Each class will focus on one or more of these areas. The schedule will be posted on our website, indigenouslotus.com/ beginning 1/15/2025 but registration is open now!

When: 2 Weekday classes, 1 Weekend
Where: Virtually on Zoom (in-person classes TBA)
Materials: Bolster/ Pillows, Non-slip Mat (optional), Blanket, Blocks (optional)

Instructor information:
Victoria Marie is an enrolled member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate, Santee affiliated, and was born and raised on her ancestral homelands in Mni Sota (Minneapolis, MN). She is the owner of Indigenous Lotus, launched in 2017, with the intention to support indigenous relatives in healing through movement practices and knowledge sharing. As a mother and community member, Victoria is also a yoga practitioner and student, Yoga of 12-Step Recovery Leader, a certified doula, Indigenous Lactation Counselor, and holds an AS degree in Business Management, and is enrolled at Metro State University pursuing a bachelors in Business Administration. Currently, Victoria is enrolled in a prenatal yoga 85-hour teacher training as is required to teach 30 hours of prenatal yoga classes. These classes will be taught at no-cost to students.
Prior to Indigenous Lotus, Victoria's background includes direct youth work within the community for Native American/ Indigenous non-profit organizations in Minneapolis and Saint Paul since 2010. Her work has led her to teach and speak around the nation about movement and the importance of holistic healing approaches.

Please note that these specific classes are offered at no cost. All students are required to provide their own props and supplies. The instructor will to the best of her knowledge and experience accommodate students needs and limitations and offer modifications during each class.

I am participating in classes or services during which I will receive information and instruction about many wellness topics and movement practices. I recognize that yoga and other movement practices require physical exertion, which may be strenuous and may cause physical injury, and I am fully aware of the risks and hazards involved. I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with a physician prior to and regarding my participation in any physical workshop or class, including yoga. I represent and warrant that I have no medical condition that would prevent us from participation in physical fitness activities. If I am pregnant, I will consult with my doctor for approval to attend.

I agree to assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries or damages, known and unknown, which might incur as a result of participating in an event. In further consideration of being permitted to participate in the movement and yoga classes/events/workshops, I knowingly, voluntarily, and expressly waive any claim I may have against the instructors, or the owner of the Indigenous Lotus for injuries or damages that I may sustain as a result of participating in classes/events/workshops conducted by Indigenous Lotus. If I participate in other classes or events at or with Indigenous Lotus and of an other events, workshops or classes hosted, I will also assume full responsibility for any injuries that may result from participation. By checking agree below, I further acknowledge that in this setting the instructor is acting solely as an instructor or presenter, and not a medical professional.
