A Song for Philly: a collective songwriting experiment with Driftwood Soldier
We are Driftwood Soldier, a DIY duo out of West Philly who play mandolin, bass guitar, and an assortment of junk percussion. As a response to the Covid-19 pandemic we're trying an experiment where we'll take the responses to this form and use them to write a song.
We hope you'll be part of it!

How it works:
-Before May 31, you answer one simple question: "How have you been?"
It's the tiny/huge question someone asks you when they walk by your porch and stop to chat from the sidewalk. It's the start of a conversation with a friend you're calling for the first time in a while, or the first thing you say at a family birthday being celebrated on a video call. There's no wrong answer, and no need to try and capture everything. Just gave us something personal about your recent experience in this unsettled time.

-We'll take all your responses and write a song for our city. It won't include the exact text of every contribution, but we're curious to see what kind of quilt we can patch together when we see all the pieces in one place.

-We send you a copy of the song by email. No other strings attached. You helped create the song, and you get it as soon as it's ready.

That's it! Take five minutes to share something with us, and if you feel so inclined, take another five to share this form with people in the general Philly metropolitan area.

You live in or around Philly, right? *
Share something (a sentence, a fragment, a word) from your life these last couple months. It can be a small observation, or a broad feeling. Mundane or profound. Something you've seen or heard (smelled/touched/tasted) is great too. Just keep it brief! *
Give us an email address where we can send you the song when it's done! It won't be used for any other purpose, we promise.
