Black Homeownership Project Application
The Center for NYC Neighborhoods (the Center), DIVAS for Social Justice
(DIVAS) and The ABNY Foundation have launched of the Black Housing Project, a
collaborative youth-led multimedia history and storytelling project to highlight the diverse stories of
Black homeowners across New York City, focusing on Southeast Queens and Northern Staten Island.

We are looking for youth in Southeast Queens to tell the stories of homeownership through gaining digital media skills. Youth will learning the following skills:
Video & Photography
Sound
Research the history of Black Homeownership through archival footage
Editing of Still Images and Producing content for final project

All of the content created will be featured throughout NYC.
Cohort meetings for this class will take place July 28, 2022-August 25, 2022, Every Thursday from 2-5PM
This project is for middle school and high school students
