IT'S RAINING POSSIBILITY!!! Cafe du Cheap Artiste is a performance open mic/cabaret, presented every ~2 months in a variety of Boston spaces. Each Cafe has a (loose) theme - pieces can be related to that theme, or not! Please also feel free to dress up in appropriate thematic fashion, or not! The April 16th iteration is Newsroom Hysteria - transporting us to the world of goofy meteorologists in very ugly suits, green screen gaffs, kooky on-site investigative journalists, and Hard-Hitting, Political Commentary (sponsored by the richest ppl to ever live).
At the Cafe, ANYONE and ANYTHING can be on the news! Do YOU need to workshop that absurdist puppetry comedy piece you have?? Do YOU have a love song you’ve been dying to sing for your biggest news anchor crush?? Do YOU wanna explore the psyche of a Geraldo while he discovers that we live in a simulation??? Anything can be BREAKING NEWS at the Cafe! Forecasts show there will be a SPOTLIGHT on your ARTISTRY!
But, keep in mind: each piece has a strict two minute time limit. If you go over the two minute mark, you will be played off by the Goddamn Brass Band!
