Gisborne Volunteer Centre International Volunteer Day, 5th December Nomination Form 2019
This International Volunteer Day we will be recognising the contribution of volunteers at our Awards evening on 5th December . There are twelve categories, and you may nominate as many volunteers as you want but each volunteer can be nominated for one category only. Nominations close Friday 15th November 2019.
The Awards will be presented at an event on Thursday 5th December, starting at 6.00pm at the Waikanae Surf Lifesaving Club Rooms.
What you need to know: Each volunteer nominated will receive a certificate.
Each volunteer can only be nominated for one category.
What you need to do: Please invite the volunteers you nominate for the awards.
Please come and help us celebrate at the event.
Award Reason
1. Greta Thunberg Activism Award: For the volunteer that’s not afraid to stand up and fight for what’s
right.
2. Better Together Award: For the team that achieves great things by working effectively
together.
3. The Malala Award: For the volunteer who won’t accept barriers to volunteering. That has
triumphed over adversity and is giving back to their community
against all odds.
4. Great Leadership Award: For the volunteer that guides, governs and leads with integrity and
vision.
5. Heart and Soul Award: For the volunteer who adds value to the team and brings positivity to
the work environment.
6. Impact Award: For the solution focused volunteer that makes an extraordinary
impact to the community, the organisation, or the planet through
their volunteer work.
7. David Attenborough Award: For the volunteer who has been a lifelong advocate for the environment, has
made a significant impact to the planet through volunteering and continues to
do so.
8. Behind The Scenes Award: For the volunteer who keeps the wheels turning efficiently completing
essential work behind the scenes.
9. Mahi Aroha Award For the volunteer who serves their community through Marae based
activities.
10. Feed the Whanau Award: For the volunteer that provides sustenance to the team.
11. Robin Hood Award: For the financial whiz in the team that obtains grants and
organises and fundraises to keep and organisation going.
12. The Innovation Award: For the volunteer who contributes to the team with their bright ideas
and vision.
