Last fall our Ohio NATS members expressed an interest in building a stronger sense of community through three suggested forums:
1. Monthly Mocktail Hours over Zoom
2. Zoom Presentations
3. Mentorship Program
This survey helps us further explore these opportunities. Thank you for taking the time to fill this out.
Mocktail Hours - This is a fun time to gather with tea or wine and share ideas, frustrations, and find support.
Zoom Presentations - This is an important venue for our young teachers who would value an opportunity to make a presentation and build their tenure file! It would also be a welcomed opportunity for new ideas!
Mentorship Program - Young teachers would like help in the studio, everything from passaggio negotiation to building their dossier for tenure. Our seasoned teachers are interested to learn new things about the applications of technology for the studio, employing social media and online resources.
Some might worry about the additional time commitment to be a mentor. This will take some fine-tuning, but the thought is 5 hours of shadowing in the studio, either in-person or virtually, and 2-3 hours of conversation over the course of one 15-week semester. Essentially you are letting someone observe you and meeting with them 2 or 3 times. It's not that much time and could make a world of difference for one of your colleagues in NATS.
