WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION 🇮🇹 🇬🇧

For the past 25 years I have been present in the field of professional contemporary dance.
I enjoyed studying, embracing the intricacies of creative processes, I spent countless hours with people I like, globetrotting presenting the work on stage and in dance studios.
All these experiences contributed towards the crystallisation of 'Martins Dancing', my dance style.

TEACHING:
I remember clearly, surprisingly shortly after taking my first dance classes I was already teaching dance to others.
I just liked a lot the process of unveiling my intuitive understanding, conceptualising it and inventing procedures how to gift my know-how to friends, colleagues and students. 
I have taught others pretty much everything what I learned from others and experienced myself.
I received the MA degree in dance pedagogy and simultaneously I have been dancing full blast until nowadays.

TEACHING CONTENT:
What I'm offering to you is an experience of my craft, a study moment in the library of my knowledge.
I will teach you the scores and methods that will equip you with concrete and graspable tools.
I designed these tools in order to cultivate awareness, a sensitivity that can help you to access your feelings.
The study process will radically enlarge your movement vocabulary and teach you how to use the body language more eloquently.

IMPROVISATION:
I have never done anything in my life that was not improvised.
Since 2005 I am mostly not working with pre-choreographed movement sequences, pre-written vocabulary, yet I believe that my work contains tremendous amount of clarity and layered precision.
I use improvisation to conduct my movement research, to perform, for the work outs and training sessions and unusually as a treatment tool.

CONCLUSIONS:
What I'm presenting to you is very personal, yet I carry the belief that my work houses a generous portion of objective value to All.
To study with me you don't need to be a movement specialist, professional performer nor a young person.
I appreciate a lot open minded curious students ready to spend time investigating, using your today's potential occasionally swinging to the tunes of music.
I wish to help and make you feel better.

DESCRIZIONE:
Negli ultimi 25 anni sono stato presente nel campo della danza contemporanea professionale.
Mi è piaciuto studiare, abbracciare le complessità dei processi creativi, ho trascorso innumerevoli ore con persone che mi piacevano, girando il mondo per presentare il lavoro sul palcoscenico e negli studi di danza.
Tutte queste esperienze hanno contribuito alla cristallizzazione della "Martins Dancing", il mio stile di danza.

L'INSEGNAMENTO:
Ricordo chiaramente che, sorprendentemente, poco dopo aver seguito i miei primi corsi di danza, stavo già insegnando danza ad altri. Mi piaceva molto il processo di svelare la mia comprensione intuitiva, concettualizzarla e inventare procedure per regalare il mio know-how ad amici, colleghi e studenti.
Ho insegnato ad altri praticamente tutto ciò che ho imparato da altri e sperimentato io stesso.
Ho conseguito un master in pedagogia della danza e contemporaneamente ho ballato a pieno ritmo fino ad oggi.

CONTENUTI DIDATTICI:
Quello che vi offro è un'esperienza del mio mestiere, un momento di studio nella biblioteca del mio sapere.
Vi insegnerò le partiture e i metodi che vi doteranno di strumenti concreti e afferrabili.
Ho ideato questi strumenti per coltivare la consapevolezza, una sensibilità che possa aiutarvi ad accedere ai vostri sentimenti. Il processo di studio amplierà radicalmente il vostro vocabolario di movimento e vi insegnerà a usare il linguaggio del corpo in modo più eloquente.

IMPROVVISAZIONE:
Non ho mai fatto nulla in vita mia che non fosse improvvisato.
Dal 2005 non lavoro più con sequenze di movimento pre-coreografate, né con un vocabolario pre-scritto, eppure credo che il mio lavoro contenga un'enorme quantità di chiarezza e precisione stratificata.
Uso l'improvvisazione per condurre la mia ricerca sul movimento, per esibirmi, per gli esercizi e le sessioni di allenamento e, insolitamente, come strumento di trattamento.

CONCLUSIONI:
Quello che vi presento è molto personale, eppure ho la convinzione che il mio lavoro contenga una generosa parte di valore oggettivo per tutti.
Per studiare con me non è necessario essere specialisti del movimento, performer professionisti o giovani.
Apprezzo molto gli studenti curiosi e di mentalità aperta, pronti a dedicare il loro tempo a indagare, a utilizzare il loro potenziale odierno e, occasionalmente, a dondolarsi sulle note della musica.
Desidero aiutarvi e farvi sentire meglio.

BIOGRAPHY
Martin was born in 1974 in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, where he graduated from high school.

Subsequently, he enrolled in a program for teacher education in contemporary dance at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, the Faculty of Music and Dance where he received his "Master of Arts". Choreographers and teachers who most influenced his further development as a dancer are Jan Durovcik and Libor Vaculik. From 1992 to 1996, he was a member of the Torzo Ballet Company and performed as a free lancer in several productions of the Opera/Ballet Bratislava Slovakia.

During the summer of 1997 he became a member of Anna Teresa de Keersmaeker's ROSAS dance company, in Brussels. He danced in numerous performances: "WOULD", in the reprise of "MIKROCOSMOS" and "ACHTERLAND", contributed to the creation of "JUST BEFORE", "DRUMMING", "I SAID", and "IN REAL TIME". During these years with ROSAS, the teachings of David Zambrano and Chrysa Parkinson widened his dance horizons.

Between 2001 and 2004, he collaborated with the choreographer Roberto Olivan in the creation of "NATURAL STRANGE DAYS" and "DE FARRA".

In the seasons 2002-2004, he worked with circus company Rital Brocante.

Since 2003, he has been a member of Thomas Hauert's company ZOO, performing in "FIVE", "MODIFY", "MORE LESS SAID SONGS", "WALKING OSCAR", "PUZZLED" and 'ACCORDS".

Martin Kilvady is co-founder of Les SlovaKs Dance Collective. They created "OPENING NIGHT", "JOURNEY HOME" and " FRAGMENTS".

Martin has been involved in more then 30 original creations and performed through out all the continents of the world.
He is guiding an ongoing movement research and has been teaching for more then 25 years.
