Roots and Community 4/24/21@5:00pm-6:30pm
Roots and Community is a valued tradition at the Children's School as it allows us to celebrate our diversity and share our cultures with each other. For many years, we have been able to gather together in person to honor these differences. Due to restrictions this year, we are thinking outside of the box to keep this tradition alive. In the past, families have joined together to host a table that represents their country or culture. Last year we had more than 20 groups represented (ex. Japan, LGBTQIA+, Jewish Heritage, the Dominican Republic, Italy, China, France, Jamaica, Mexico, etc.) We have shared foods, crafts, games, and music. This year will have to be different.

The purpose of this form is to see if you are interested in hosting a virtual table (via Google Meet) to represent your group. We will support you in any way we can and will provide access to appropriate links. Examples for your virtual "table" could include but are not limited to making a special dish online, making a craft, teaching a game/trivia, sharing music, etc. Your commitment would be to be present in a virtual space (4/24/21@5:00-6:30) and provide a list of needed materials for participants ahead of time. Time commitment may be shortened depending on number of individuals interested.

Based on responses from the community, we will plan next steps accordingly. If we are able to proceed with the event, we will reach out to you.

Thank you for your consideration and we hope to continue this valued tradition. If you have any questions please contact us.
