BikePed Portal considers data to be sensitive and confidential. Because of the sensitivity of such information and the concern about possible misuse and misinterpretation, such data, when provided is furnished with certain limitations and concerns. By agreeing to this Data Research and Contribution Access Agreement you agree to the following terms and conditions with regard to the use and contribution of digital data from and to BikePed Portal.

1)  Use of data is limited as follows:
a)  Data may only be used within your department, agency, business, or corporation for non-commercial research or educational purposes.
b)  Subcontractors may have access to these data during the course of any given project but should not be given a copy for their use on subsequent unrelated work.
c)  Data sets may not be published or shared with users who do not have access to BikePed Portal, with the exception of basic visualization on the Explore page of BikePed Portal's website.
d)  Beyond these limits, BikePed Portal data may not be further distributed or sold in any format.
e)  Should individuals approach you outside your organization for the type of data that BikePed Portal provides, please refer them to BikePed Portal.

2)  Information Currency:
a)  BikePed Portal data is dynamic. It is added, deleted, and changed regularly. Consequently, BikePed Portal strongly advises that you plan to update your data sets about every six months for most applications of our information. It is your responsibility to use a current copy of BikePed Portal data for your analysis or other work.

3)  Need for Interpretation of Information:
a)  BikePed Portal data requires a certain degree of expertise for proper analysis, interpretation, and application. The BikePed Portal team is available to you to advise you about the technical aspects of our data. It is your responsibility to ensure that the data you obtain from us are not misapplied.

4)  Limitations of Data:
a)  BikePed Portal data contains data from a variety of sources, which vary in the quality of their information. You agree to accept the data "as-is", and BikePed Portal makes no representations or warranties whatsoever with respect to the quality or accuracy of the data, except as specifically set forth in this agreement.

5)  Data As A Guide Only:
a)  BikePed Portal strives to keep the portal as current and up to date as possible given our capabilities and resources. However, BikePed Portal should not be considered as an exhaustive and comprehensive inventory. Please remember that any lack of information does not mean that there are no significant elements there, only that there is no information known to BikePed Portal.

6)  Findings and analysis, in the form of aggregated figures or data, may be published, but all such publications will be:
a)  Submitted to BikePed Portal.
b)  Contain a credit to the original owner(s) of the data used.
c)  As a professional courtesy, we ask that you acknowledge BikePed Portal as a source of your information whenever you use BikePed Portal data in your reports, papers, publications, or in digital and print media that incorporate BikePed Portal graphic elements. A citation similar to the following can be used, "data obtained from BikePed Portal which was created and is supported by Portland State University's Transportation Research and Education Center (TREC), and used herein with permission from the copyright owner."

7)  Contribution of data is subject to the following:
a) Contributor represents and warrants that they own the contributed data or have permission to contribute the data.
b) Data contributed does not infringe upon any copyright, patent, property right, personal right, or other right.
c) Data contributed can be used for any purpose.

8)  Terms are subject to change depending on agreements with relevant Copyright holders.
