1. Confidentiality of any and all client related information shared during the workshop must be maintained by the participant in accord with federal HIPAA and state patient privacy policies/laws.

2. Participants are expected to participate in online studies and classes sessions via Zoom beginning January and ending in May. We typically have an onsite training portion at a hospital in St. Augustine however due to COVID-19, we will be replacing this with 2 weekends of online training doing role-play scenarios. The two weekends (Friday late afternoon through Sunday evening) have not been determined yet but the weekends will be during the months of February and/or March.

3. Participant agrees to participate in scheduled online and "onsite" (role-play weekends) activities for the workshop, including, but not limited to: presentations; practice sessions; discussions; lectures; and any other class sessions deemed appropriate by the instructor(s). Participant agrees to complete evaluations as scheduled by the instructor(s) including, but not limited to: pre- and post-testing; information summaries; quizzes; written testing; program and presentation evaluations; etc. Attendance at events designated as optional (there will be a few extra workshops/events) is at the individual participant’s discretion.

4. Participant agrees that any work submitted to the Medical Interpreter Training Online (MITO) including written and video-taped, becomes the property of TRUE-BIZ ASL and that all rights to that material belong to TRUE-BIZ ASL and may be put to such use as deemed appropriate by TRUE-BIZ ASL and its instructor(s).

5. Workshop materials including textbooks, articles, videos and other materials deemed appropriate by the instructor(s), become the responsibility of the workshop participant once in receipt of these materials.

6. Candidates for the TRUE-BIZ ASL Medical Interpreter Training Online (MITO) program are selected based on a screening process that ranks the suitability of registrants for available vacancies based on the categories listed as part of the application process. Part of the selection criteria may be based on willingness of qualified participants to complete the entire sequence, both online and onsite. Those selected to attend will be notified by e-mail. Candidates not selected will be notified and kept informed of upcoming TRUE-BIZ ASL events. No voice interpreting will be provided.

7. Materials and program may not copied, including any workshop materials distributed to the participant by the instructor(s) as a part of the necessary or online course materials without the prior written consent from TRUE-BIZ ASL through its CEO or authorized agents. Materials include but are not limited to: syllabi and course curricula, articles, outlines, videos or any other materials. Participant agrees not to conduct workshops or other training events based on this material, without express written permission from the presenter and TRUE-BIZ ASL.

8. TRUE-BIZ ASL, workshop planners, instructors and contractors, and the workshop site and facility personnel shall not be held responsible for any liability, physical or otherwise, for the duration of the workshop.

9. Awarding of continuing education units is solely at the discretion of and the responsibility of TRUE-BIZ ASL. Continuing education units are available for Interpreters only. Individuals receiving continuing education must be present for the entire activity. TRUE-BIZ ASL strives to be a Deaf-centered business therefore presentations will all be in American Sign Language.

10. Regarding program fees, you will first submit your registration. Once you have been accepted into The Medical Interpreter Training Online (MITO) program, you will be notified via e-mail of your acceptance and information regarding payment. The program fee is $1,200. You may pay in full or pay in two (2) installments of $600. The due dates for the payments are: December 15th and February 1st.

11. Completed application must be signed and returned prior to participation in the Medical Interpreter Training Online (MITO) program. I have read and understand the participation policies as described by TRUE-BIZ ASL.
