Summer programs will take place in Garland, TX in the Forest Ln and Plano Rd area. Refugee children in grades PreK-8 come for 7 weeks of reading, math, and Bible programs. Summer volunteers commit to helping in classrooms for one week. This consists of a Sunday evening orientation, and either morning or afternoon programs Monday-Thursday. Volunteers are welcome to join for more than one week.

Childcare: We offer limited classroom spots for volunteers' children who have completed PreK4-8th grade, and are age 4 (by 9/1/2022) to age 14. You will be asked to register all children who will be in attending. If your child has completed 9th grade and is aged 15+, he/she may volunteer; they must submit their own application.

Note: Please sign up for a volunteer week ONLY if you are committing to attend Sunday orientation and Monday-Thursday programs. We are unable to take volunteers for partial weeks.

If you are a certified lifeguard or swim instructor and would like to teach swimming lessons to refugee children this summer, email robin.g@ftnro.org.

Before you begin your application, please sign up any participating children.

This summer, we are able to accept volunteers' children entering Kindergarten - completed 8th. All children in attendance must have turned 4+ years by 9/1/22. If you have one or more children that will be accompanying you during the week you are volunteering, please first check to ensure there is availability in their age group's classroom.
