Square Tech Training Program Is a Training Program with a internship that recruits High School youth between ages of 14 – 19. This tech-based youth training program engineers a foundation of learning and developing skills through a series of technology and business-based training workshops.
Our young training interns are learning skills to become successful in the technology field while building lasting friendships with their peers and adults. Training interns are learning the necessary skills to become successful, thriving members of society.
This is a hybrid, educational internship where interns will develop skills through a series of technology and business-based training workshops. Interns will receive volunteer hours. Interns can choose all in-person workshops or all virtual workshops.
Fall 2022 Internship Dates:
This is a hybrid internship depending on your workshops you could do all in person, all virtual or both.
10/11/2022 - 12/16/2022, Monday-Friday 4pm -6:00 pm
This is a 10 week Fall Internship
Volunteers can choose 2-3 workshops they would like to take based on their interests.
Workshops this Fall:Mbot- build a robot from scratch and experience the joys
of hands-on creation. learn about robotic machinery and electronic parts and
learn the fundamentals of block-based programming.
Intro to Windows OS- This course presents an in-depth introduction to the
most widely used desktop Topics include desktop virtualization, operating
system configurations, mobile operating systems, installing and uninstalling software, managing applications and managing
files and folders.
Intro to PC- introduction to the computer hardware world where
specific knowledge and skills are required to help meet entry-level qualifications.
Understanding how a computer works inside and out will provide students a basis
in which they can rely on to perform professionally.
Intro to Networking- Students in the workshop will be exposed to a variety
of network technologies, IT industry concepts, and general career advice in the
field of Information Technology. Student should possess the following knowledge
of technology and procedures the various devices on a network and how they are
connected.
Intro to Business Management-
Interns will gain skills in professionalism
around leadership, time management, creative thinking, treating others and
problem solving/critical thinking. Interns will learn communication when to
give and receiving different kinds of information. Through budgeting interns
will learn how to track their income and spending by creating a budget sheet.
They will also learn how to set long- and short-term goals in order to budget
for their future.
Possible workshop this summer:
Intro to Computer Science- Interns will understand a way to develop a program by learning to code with Java, data structures, error correcting how a script is constructed and other fun activities.
Interns will: Earn volunteer hours while learning new technical skills, Undergo workshops and hands-on training that covers the fundamental knowledge and concepts of jobs in the entry-level IT fields,
