A registered CRA charity (registered with Canada Revenue Agency
https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency.html) is eligible to apply if it serves the Bow Valley community. Key priorities are programs or projects that focus on keeping Bow Valley residents fed, sheltered, safe and connected, especially vulnerable residents.
Eligible initiatives:
- Must be charitable in nature;
- Must be for the benefit of the Bow Valley community;
- Must provide direct response and support to those affected by COVID-19, particularly those who are
most vulnerable and those who may be facing social isolation;
- Must use the grant awarded to provide for expenses incurred or planned in the Bow Valley region.
The following initiatives are ineligible:
- Deficit reduction (e.g. debts or loans);
- Building an endowment or general fundraising;
- Sponsorships;
- Primarily benefiting individuals (such as scholarships);
- Initiatives without specific benefit to the Bow Valley region;
- Religious activities or services that focus on only one spiritual tradition;
- Political activity that is prohibited by the Canada Revenue Agency.
