We, Raisa Saleh and Russell Seth Martins, are Medical Students at the Aga Khan University and are carrying out a research on the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Career Choice of Medicine.

Dr. Sarah Nadeem (MD, FACE) Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at the Aga Khan University, is the Primary Investigator on this research.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has affected people's lives globally, through direct infection as well as through various social and economic implications. As a result, it is possible that it has had a direct impact on both short- and long-term individual career experiences, opportunities and paths.

The purpose of this survey is therefore to assess the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the decision of high-school students to pursue medicine as a career. It could yield valuable data for those trying to understand the trends associated with high school students pursuing medical careers in the future.

You are being asked to fill this survey if you were enrolled in your final 4 years of high school in Pakistan for the academic year 2019-2020 (studying O Levels / A levels / Matric / Inter / any equivalent board), and are in a premedical or general sciences stream.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You will be asked about your demographics, basic education profile, career aspirations and general perceptions about the field of medicine. There are no risks or compensation for your participation in this survey.

Your confidentiality is guaranteed, and you may opt out of the survey at any point if you so choose by closing the page without submitting your response. The results of the study may be published for scientific purposes but will not give your name or include any identifiable references to you.

میرا نام رعیسہ صالح ہے۔ میں آغا خان یونیورسٹی میں طب کی ایک طالبہ ہوں اور اس ٹیم کا حصہ ہوں جو طب کو کیریئر کے طور پر منتخب کرنے والوں پر عالمی وبا کووڈ ۱۹ کے اثرات پر تحقیق کر رہی ہے۔

عالمی وبا کووڈ ۱۹ نے پوری دنیا میں لوگوں کی زندگی کو براہ راست متعدی مرض کے ذریعے اور دوسرے عوامل مثلا سماجی اور معاشی اثرات  کے ذریعے متاثر کیا ہے۔ جس کے نتیجے میں یہ ممکن ہے کہ اس کے براہ راست اثرات دونوں طرح فوری اور لمبی مدت کے طور پر فرد کے کیریئرپر اثر انداز ہوں، تجرباتی طور پر،مواقع کے طور پر اور راہ  کے طور پر۔

اس لیے اس سروے کا مقصد یہ ہے کہ یہ اندازہ لگایا جائے کہ عالمی وبا کووڈ ۱۹کے اثرات ہائی اسکول کے طلبا پر طب کو ایک کیریئر کے طور پر منتخب کیے جانے کے فیصلے پر کیا ہیں۔

یہ سروے ان لوگوں کے لیے قیمتی اعداد و شمار مہیا کر سکتا ہے جو کوشش کر رہے ہیں ان رجحانات کو سمجھنے کی ہائی اسکول کے طلبا کے لیے طب کے پیشے کو مستقبل میں کیریئر کے طور پر منتخب کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔

آپ سے اس سروے کو بھرنے کے لیے کہا جاتا ہے اگر آپکا اپنے ہائی اسکول کے آخری چار سال میں اندراج ہوا تھا پاکستان میں تعلیمی سال ۲۰۲۰ ـ۲۰۱۹ کے لیے (او  لیول کے طالب علم／اے لیول／میٹرک／انٹر／اس کے مساوی بورڈ) اور اگر آپ پری میڈیکل یا جنرل سائنس کے طلبا میں شامل ہیں۔

اس سروے  کو دس سے پندرہ منٹ میں مکمل کر لینا چاہیے۔ آپ سے آپ کے علم شماریات کے بارے میں، بنیادی تعلیم، پروفائل، کیریئر  کی طلبی اور طب کے میدان کے بارے میں عام ادراک پوچھی جائے گی۔ اس سروے میں حصہ لینے والوں کے لیے کوئی نقصان یا معاوضہ نہیں ہے۔

آپ کی رازداری کی ضمانت دی جاتی اور آپ اس سروے میں سے کسی بھی وقت اپنی  رضامندی واپس لے سکتے ہیں صفحے کو بند کرکے اپنے ردعمل کی نشاندہی کیے بغیر۔ اس مطالعے کا نتیجہ سائنسی مقاصد کے لیے شائع کیا جاسکتا ہے آپ کا نام شامل کیے بغیر یا آپ کی کوئی شناختی علامت بتائے بغیر۔
