Welcome  to the online application to become a lifetime member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.
Some of the advantages of joining Pi Sigma Alpha include:

  -  Recognition of academic excellence on your resume
  -  honor regalia (including a medal) to wear with robes at graduation
  -  Scholarships for graduate study
  -  Best paper awards
  -  Student leadership opportunities

If you meet the requirements below, you can become a member by submitting this online application and paying a $20 membership fee online. (We will provide the link for making the online payment later in this form once you fill out the information needed to verify your eligibility).

The one-time $20 membership fee is passed to the national Pi Sigma Alpha office and provides lifetime membership to Pi Sigma Alpha, as well as a certificate, lapel pin, and medallion that you can wear with your graduation robes. (The fee is actually higher than this, but the Political Science Department subsidizes the cost to make it more affordable for students.)

To be eligible for national (lifetime) membership, you need to:
1. Be a member of the Political Science Department's student club, the BYU Political Affairs Society. If you are not a member, you can become one (for free!) later in this application.
2. Be juniors or seniors.
3. Have completed at least 10 credit hours of political science or international relations courses.
4. Have completed at least one political science course at the 300- or 400-level.
5. Have an overall GPA of at least 3.5.
6. Have a political science GPA of at least 3.0.

Students will be notified by email once their application is accepted. Applications that are not accepted will be returned, along with the $20 membership fee if you paid it before your application was reviewed.
