This week, SMY families are encouraged to participate in activities that support Family Literacy Day which is celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2023. The theme this year is Celebrate your Heritage. Families are encouraged to visit the ABC Life Literacy Website to access resources and activities that families can engage in together. To help children learn and explore their heritage at home, families can complete this Activity Booklet for some fantastic family activities. You can also Register here to participate in a special event to create alongside Canadian author and illustrator Barbara Reid.

Families are invited to fill out the Google Form below for their child/children to be entered into a draw to win a book for their family to enjoy together. Thank you for supporting Family Literacy Day! There’s no better way to support literacy and learn about your family, than together as a family!
