Come and join us hosting our learners at Women’s Trad Festival on 6-8th August 2021.If you are an experienced trad climber with an RCI (SPA) level qualification or higher, and are passionate about sharing your love of climbing by helping others learn, we'd love to have you join us this year!
**PLEASE NOTE: leader requirements have changed. Read these carefully below, even if you have already attended WTF as a leader. We are also offering increased mentorship support, so read that section carefully too.**

BEING A WOMEN'S TRAD FESTIVAL LEADER
Women's Trad Festival aims to be a personal, supportive and enjoyable learning environment. Leaders teach learners by taking them out to one of the excellent nearby grit crags to improve their skills and build their confidence throughout the weekend.
As a leader you will be paired up with two learners of a similar experience levels. They may be competent indoor climbers, they may have a little trad experience, or they may be completely new to climbing altogether. You will need your own gear and ropes.

SUPPORT AND THANKS
All leaders receive a free weekend ticket. This includes camping on Friday and Saturday night, a WTF2021 tee and a goody bag. We will also make a contribution towards your travel expenses. This will be a set amount based on your home postcode.
New this year, you will be supported and mentored, on a 1:3 basis, by a highly qualified and experienced MCI (MIA) instructor. They will offer personalised advice and mentorship at the crags and support on any safety concerns. They can also give you advice around further professional development if desired. These mentors will be professionals in the industry, and primarily women. We believe that this increased mentor presence, better supports women in outdoor leadership, one of our three festival aims.

LEADER REQUIREMENTS
1. **NEW THIS YEAR** Our insurance requires leaders to be RCI (SPA) qualified by the date of the festival. We very much regret that this excludes a cohort of extremely experienced and brilliant trad climbers, many of whom have attended WTF as leaders in the past. We have worked incredibly hard to not go down this avenue, and this move was not taken lightly. Unfortunately it was essential for us to insure the festival.
(To those without the required qualification, we are working on offering the possibility of you working with an RCI leader in a supporting role, so please do apply if this might be of interest to you. This could be especially supportive to those wanting to go into outdoor leadership or considering qualifications in the future.)
2. We are looking for leaders who are enthusiastic and passionate about sharing your love of climbing, who have patience and understanding of different abilities and comfort zones, and are willing and able to create a supportive, fun and nurturing learning environment. It is also important that you are sensitive to this being a female-focused, yet widely inclusive event and that you are supportive of our inclusivity and are aligned with our aims and values (see
