Home Alone Safety for Kids or Babysitter Training (PD March 20, 2020) - Mother D'Youville
EducAid Training Services is thrilled to offer Home Alone Safety for Kids and Babysitter Training on PD Friday, March 20, 2020, at Mother D'Youville School in Beaumont, AB.

Courses will run from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Adult supervision will be provided throughout each course, including during breaks. Students will not be permitted to leave the premises during breaks unless written permission is provided by a parent/guardian. Parents and/or guardians must provide an emergency contact name and phone number when registering their child for the course. Students are asked to bring their own bagged lunch, water bottle and writing utensil. All other course materials and equipment are provided.

The cost for either workshop is $60 (this pricing already includes GST). A portion of your workshop fee will be donated back to Mother D'Youville's School Council Fundraising Society. Payment is due at the time of registration. Workshops may only be cancelled if written notice is provided to educaidtraining@gmail.com at least 72 hours prior to the start of the workshop.

FAQ #1 - My child is 12 years old and is interested in staying home alone and babysitting. Can they take Home Alone Safety for Kids and Babysitter Training or are the topics repetitive?

Answer #1 - Although there is some overlap in the topics, both courses are unique and cover different content.

FAQ#2 - Will my child receive a license at the end of the course?

Answer #2 - Students will receive a certificate of participation if they successfully complete Home Alone Safety for Kids workshop. Ultimately, it is up to a parent/guardian to decide when a child is ready to stay home alone and/or babysit. We encourage you to use the course materials provided to your child as they are excellent resources to help facilitate discussions for families exploring whether or not a child is ready for independence, staying home alone and/or babysitting.

FAQ #3 - My child has a learning disability and/or anxiety with tests. Can they be successful with this course?

Answer #3 - All of our instructors are certified teachers and/or certified instructors with classroom experience at the elementary/junior high level. As long as students are respectful, willing to participate and interested in the course topics, there should be no barriers to their success.
