Read this story to find out.
A long time ago, God created the heavens and the earth. The sky was dark, and water covered the earth. Wind blew across the water.
On the first day, God said, "Let there be light." and there was light! God separated light from darkness. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night." And God saw that it was good.
On the second day, God said, "Let the waters in the sky be separated from the waters on the earth." And God saw that it was good.
On the third day, God said, "Let the water on the earth be gathered together, so that there will be dry land." God called the water "sea" and the dry land "earth." Then God said, "Let plants grow on the earth." And God saw that it was good.
On the fourth day, God said, "Let there be lights in the sky to separate day from night." God made two great lights--the bigger one for day and the smaller one and stars for night. And God saw that it was good.
On the fifth day, God said: "Let the water be filled with all kinds of creatures. Let birds fly in the sky." And God saw that it was good.
On the sixth day, God said: "Let the earth be filled with animals and crawling things." And God saw that it was good.
Then God said, "Let us make human beings. Let them take care of the fish, birds, animals, and crawling creatures." God blessed the man and woman. And God saw that it was good.
On the seventh day, God rested. He blessed the seventh day and made it holy.
This is the story of how God created the world. We are part of God's Creation. God loves all of Creation, and all of Creation is good.
