The Harvard Vis Moot Court Team participates in the annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition. The moot attracts over 300 participating schools from around the world every year and is judged by some of the world’s preeminent arbitrators, litigators, judges, and international law scholars.
Harvard sends two teams to compete in the moot every year: one team to the Vienna competition (
https://vismoot.pace.edu/) and one to the Hong Kong competition (
http://www.cisgmoot.org/). Due to the pandemic, oral arguments this year will be virtual. The Harvard team has performed well at the competitions in past years, winning multiple awards for both its written submissions and for oral advocacy. JD and LLM students are eligible to compete, and we strongly encourage 1Ls to apply. Participants can receive independent writing credit. You can learn more about the team and competition by visiting our website (
