2024-2025 AJW PTA Nomination Form

The AJ Whittenberg PTA needs you! We are working to fill the Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 school year. To nominate yourself or someone else, fill out this form by March 8th.

Self nominations are acceptable and encouraged.  

Participation on the Board gives you an opportunity to help make your child's school a better place.

All Board members serve a one year term, with the option for a second year. Board meetings are held once a month. Board members are expected to attend as many PTA general membership meetings and fundraisers/events as possible. 

Board Member Roles and Descriptions: 

President - Oversees all aspects of PTA programs, fundraisers, and events. 

President Elect - Serves as the primary aide to the President. Assumes the role of President the following year. 

Secretary - Ensures all business transacted at each meeting of the PTA, Exec. Board, and Board of Directors is accurately recorded. Treasurer - Ensures that the PTA bank accounts are maintained properly, creates the PTA budget, gets the budget approved at the beginning of the school year, and tracks and reports it monthly. He/She must maintain a full and accurate account of the receipts and disbursements of all financial accounts operating in the name of the PTA. The Treasurer must be present at all major PTA fundraising activities to collect and count the money received. 

VP of Fundraising - Ensures financial objectives are met as set forth by the PTA in cooperation with the School Administration. Foster fundraising relationships to ensure the mission of our school is conveyed and the best interests of our students are represented. 

VP of Outreach - Ensures that all enrichment programs for the school are running successfully. Works closely with School Administration, parents, and the community to inform/educate on upcoming events and services that the PTA provides. 

VP of Communication - Ensures that the flow of information from the Executive Board to the parents, teachers and community of A.J. Whittenberg occurs in a timely manner. His/Her role is to make certain that the three public access areas for parents and teachers are active and up to date on current events and pertinent information. 

The following positions are appointed roles: 

Membership Coordinator - Handles all aspects of PTA membership administration, including member recruitment efforts and ensuring proper protocol with regional and state PTA reporting. 

Volunteer Coordinator - Oversees volunteer recruitment, organizes volunteer needs during the year, and trains volunteers as needed. 

Hospitality Coordinator - Coordinates all teacher and staff appreciation events throughout the year with the help of the hospitality committee. This includes luncheons, themed treats, and Teacher Appreciation Week. 

Watch D.O.G.S Coordinator - Implements and Oversees the Watch D.O.G.S program by actively recruiting male role models to help promote positivity, education, and a safe environment for our kids. 

Spirit Events Coordinator - Coordinate Spirit Nights and events throughout the year.
