Application SPF Staff Travel (outgoing)
Complete this form in case you are a UG academic staff applying to funding to visit one of the UG non-European Strategic Partners. This call for applications is part of the UG Strategic Partnership Framework (SPF), coordinated by the Department of International Strategy and Relations (ISR).

Selected staff receive a (partial) allowance for travel and/or subsistence.

Important:
  • Allowances are for academic staff mobility from UG to the Partner
  • Allowances consists of a 50-50 UG Central/Faculty contribution 
  • SPF grants provide seed funding for researchers to connect, but may not be sufficient to cover all costs related to the mobility
  • Eligible applicants need to hold a PhD degree and have an employment contract at UG for at least another six months after their scheduled SPF-sponsored mobility
  • Eligible applicants cannot before have received an SPF grant for travel to the same Partner 
  • Faculty contributions may be secured from Faculty international offices or the applicant's own department/institute, but this must be clear at the time of application
  • Beneficiaries may combine the SPF Staff Travel allowance with other types of funding (e.g. from the Partner), but they should indicate whether they intend to access other sources of funding external to UG, at the time of application
  • Allowances and number of positions are maximized and may be different for each Partner

Evaluations
  • ISR Regional Coordinators and SPF Academic Ambassadors will evaluate and select applications
  • Proposals should make clear reference to how the mobility will contribute to one or more of the Key Objectives of the SPF
Call dates:
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, with selection and awarding of grants announced in rounds. The deadlines for each round are roughly as follows:
  • 1 December
  • 1 March
  • 1 June
  • 1 September

The applicant should be affiliated to the University of Groningen, hold a PhD degree,  and have an employment contract at UG for at least another six months after their scheduled SPF-sponsored mobility in order to be eligible for the grant. They cannot before have been awarded an SPF grant for travel to the same Partner.
