We are looking for ten young composers who will be commissioned to each write a piece of music based on wellbeing coping mechanisms. Their final piece & performance will be filmed professionally, as well as a group performance at the Elysium Art Gallery where they will share their work to the local community.
We are looking for 25 year olds or younger who will benefit from a professionally made video which could act as a ‘show reel’ of their work to help showcase their talent.
We would like to encourage applications from early-career musicians who have not had professional work before.
This project is a development from our original project funded by Ty Cerdd; ‘Songwriting For Wellbeing’, where we took 4 early career musicians and mentored them to write songs on their own wellbeing, to inspire others to use music as a tool for wellbeing outside of performance. We have already taken these resources into schools, community groups and workshops with great response and have been sent songs written in response.www.be-extra.co.uk/songwriting
