HPS Instrumental Lessons

“Music education uniquely contributes to the emotional, physical, social and cognitive growth of all students.” National Review of School Music Education, Australia, 2005.

At Haberfield as well as class music students can learn a musical instrument from one of the visiting tutors. All visiting music tutors are very experienced teachers with their Working With Children Check (WWCC). Unfortunately lessons are not funded by the Department of Education & there are fees. The fees are discounted compared to learning privately outside of school. If your child is interested in learning a musical instrument please fill in form below & submit.

Instruments can be purchased or hired and there are several options. Hire instrument from NSW DEC Instrumental Loan -$180 per year plus annual service average cost between $100.

All students learning an instrument from a visiting tutor must join the school band/ensemble. The band/ensemble fee for 2023 is $200 per year or $100 per semester. A student can participate in more than one band/ensemble for this fee. Online payment is available on school web page, the reference is "Instrumental fee" - Visit School Home page - https://haberfield-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/ or payments page - https://haberfield-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/payment.html#/student-details

I will send further information about instrumental lessons when I receive this completed google form & pass your expression of interest onto the relevant musical tutor. The tutors will contact parent/caregivers to arrange lessons.
