Start by asking your child: Who do you ask for help when you have a problem? Parents, teacher, older sibling. Ask: Who do you go to when you are scared? Parents, grandparents, older siblings, etc. Ask: Who protects you and keeps you safe? Parents, teachers, police officers, school crossing guards, etc. *
Explain to your child that God not only protects us by giving us good things, but he has also chosen a Guardian Angel to be with each one of us all the time. Tell your child that they are never alone, that an angel is always by their side. Encourage them to talk with their angel, who is a good protector and helps them with their needs. *
Help your child find page 33 in their handbooks. Have them repeat the words as you read them aloud. Help them to find the right side column on page 33 and then find the second prayer. *
Next have your child point to each word as you read it aloud. Read through the prayer slowly. Start again and read it in short phrases, stopping after each for your child to repeat it.

This week's Word of the Week is God.  Please share this definition with your child: God made the whole world. Everything that God made is good. God made you and me. *
Please practice saying the following prayers:  the Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, and practice making the Sign of the Cross every day. Look on pages 32-33 of your "What the Church Believes and Teaches" handbook if you need help.  Select all the prayers you practiced this week.   *
