1UpState invites YOU to submit an application for Panel or Discussion for the 1UpState: A Celebration of Games and the People Who Make Them. Abstracts that are accepted will be asked to be made into Presentations to be delivered at the Conference, taking place October 4, 2025 in Albany, NY, and will also be published in Expo program and available on the 1UpState website.

1UpState Honorarium

It is our belief that everyone should be compensated for their time and contributions. To that end, all speakers will receive an honorarium with final amounts to be based on available funds. To ensure that the compensation is as equitable as possible, honorariums will vary in amount from Microtalks, Panels, and Long Talks. All speakers will also be granted access to the event as part of their compensation, regardless of the type of speaking engagement awarded.

CURRENT APPLICATION SCHEDULE:
Applicants will be notified if their application is approved no later than 30 days prior to the event date. If there is still availability, the application acceptance will be extended as needed and as per the discretion of the 1UpState staff.

Session Recording
All sessions are intended to be recorded for distribution on the 1UpState YouTube Channel for archival and historical viewing purposes. By default, by submitting this application you accept that your session will be recorded for these purposes. 

If you would prefer that your session be NOT recorded, please indicate below. We, the 1UpState Planning Team, understand that there are a variety of reasons for requesting that your session be excluded from this. Your reasons are your own and you will not be asked to elaborate.

This choice will in no way affect the selection process, and you may change your mind at any time.
