Legislative Officer — This involves setting up meetings with members of the Legislature’s education committees, identifying bill sponsors, and providing them with the resources they need to advance the legislation through the lawmaking process.

Communications Officer — take the lead in coordinating publicity efforts via the website, social media channels and media outreach campaigns. Use storytelling and visual design to make informative presentations to educate supporters and decision-makers.

Regional Organizer (four positions: North Texas, East Texas, West Texas and South & Central Texas) — builds contacts and relationships with regional allies of our organization to raise awareness of New Voices. Growing familiarity with the organization will ensure more recognition with representatives, legislators, and our communities.

Educational Officer — works to raise awareness about need for legislation to bolster student press freedom in Texas as well as the precedents set by the Hazelwood and Tinker Supreme Court cases. Recruits supporters among student journalists in Texas.

Club Development Officer — works to form New Voices Texas school clubs that include student journalists and non-journalism students as well as staff and teachers who desire to participate.
