#BollywoodMonster Orchestra is a unique fusion act of handpicked musicians that performs original mashup arrangements of hit Bollywood songs at #BollywoodMonster Mashup - the LARGEST South Asian festival in Canada.

We welcome submissions from people of all diverse backgrounds.

We're looking for:
  • Professional session Hindi singers & rappers (treble/higher voices and lower voices)
  • Professional session English singers & rappers (treble/higher voices and lower voices)
  • Professional session instrumentalists with formal training in Indian music
  • Professional session instrumentalists with formal training in western music
FAQ
  1. Do I need to know Bollywood music? No - this is a fusion orchestra, so we value knowledge of all genres!
  2. Singers: Do I need to be able to read sheet music? No - we'll provide both mp3s of your parts as well as sheet music, but if you can learn by ear you'll be fine.
  3. Instrumentalists: Do I need to be able to read music? Yes - we'll provide both mp3s of your parts as well as sheet music, but it's required to be able to sight-read western notation sheet music. Improvising your part over chord progressions or by ear won't work for this gig.
Please keep in mind that we start planning the arrangements and musicians months in advance and the genres and musicians change every year. If you're not selected this year, we'll keep you in mind for future years.

FAQ

Q: Can I send a private link?
A: Yes. We’ll keep private links confidential.

Q: How long should the video be?
A: We'll watch a maximum of 5 minutes per video even if you submit something longer. Please provide a timestamped YouTube or Vimeo URL if you want us to start watching in the middle of the video.

Q: Can I send in my latest music video or edited showreel?
A: No. Musicians should NOT submit footage with tuned vocals, lip-syncing, instrument miming, or post-production tracks mixed over top. This will disqualify your submission.

Q: Do I need a professionally shot video?
A: Hells no! We’re interested in the quality of your performance, not the quality of the videographer or editor. You can send unedited footage from a live performance in front of an audience (preferred) OR you can send rehearsal footage recorded on a mobile phone.

#BollywoodMonster Orchestra performers are required to attend up to 3 rehearsals, and a soundcheck on the same day as the live performance (all paid) *
