Jeddah Support Group

Welcome to Jeddah Support Group.  You've taken the first step to join us

This group is designed for us all, you can speak your mind without judgments and share your experience.

you are not alone in this, and you will not fight alone anymore.
you maybe got used to feeling like that, but what's to lose in attending?

• Find people with similar problems who understand your situation.
• Find friends and a growing network of support.
• Find a reason to get the heck away from destructive isolation.
• Gain helpful insights through hearing experiences from other members.
• Get knowledge about conditions and raise your awareness about it.
• Learn new coping skills.

Few protocols to remember:
- Let's not judge, none of us are saints .
- Avoid giving advises, they are situational and subjective.
- You don't have to talk, you can just be there.
please don't interrupt others when they talk, no audible reactions.
- Asking for real names or personal details should be avoided.
- if someone asked for advice or help in something, share an experience and start with "in my experience [ _____ ] worked well for me".
- harassment is highly unlikely to happen, but if it happened, report them immediately to us.
- Everything you say will not be documented in anyways unless requested by you.

Remember
IMPORTANT – This is not a treatment group. This is a place where people who are impacted by depression can give and receive support related to living with and managing their depression. They are facilitated by trained volunteers who have a diverse range of experiences but who are not qualified health professionals. As such, these groups are not suitable for people with high levels of mental distress which may be associated with psychosis, severe depression or active post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We recommend that you do not consider this group your method of treatment if you are experiencing high levels of distress as it is unlikely that they will able to meet your needs.
