VCHS AMSE Institute High School FRC Robotics Program Application 24/25

WARRIORBORGS 3256

The FRC Robotics program at VCHS uses a hands-on approach to develop robotics skills in the areas of software engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering. The team will participate in the fast-paced FRC competition season, giving them the opportunity to officially represent Valley Christian High School and compete at the local, regional, and international levels. Participation fulfills the AMSE Research Project requirement for AMSE Honors and Honors Fellow students.

We encourage students with varying backgrounds as well as those with no prior Robotics experience to apply.

This AMSE program requires a high-level of commitment and attendance at all program sessions. Students who apply must be willing to make this program their first priority when scheduling any other extracurricular activities, including other AMSE, BEI, Athletics, or Conservatory programs.

GENERAL AMSE INFORMATION

The majority of AMSE programs meet weekly and require a minimum of 2-5 hours of student commitment. Program fees for the FRC Robotics Program will be billed after school begins in the fall and are non-refundable. Additional fees may be required for local field trips and overnight travel expenses. Students may only participate in 2 AMSE programs per semester.

Students applying to an AMSE Program must be an AMSE Member or AMSE Honors participant.

Access the High School Member/Honors application here. Current AMSE Members and Honors students need only register once - your membership is good through graduation.

SELECTION PROCESS

The demand for AMSE programs is high and the selection process varies between programs. While we strive to accommodate as many students as possible, placement is not guaranteed. We expect a significant number of applicants for the FRC Robotics program.

The FRC Robotics Program manager will review all student applications and will conduct interviews with a select group of applicants. Selection criteria will include a student's course schedule, previous program experience, and responses to the application questions. Additionally, some consideration will be given to grade levels to ensure diversity in ages. This provides continuity of team knowledge for future years.
