Worcester State University has a long and proud history of athletic accomplishments, dating back to our founding Worcester Normal School. Today, WSU boasts 21 varsity teams in men’s and women’s athletics and is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1985. Since that time, many of Worcester State’s outstanding athletes have been recognized for their significant contributions to the advancement of athletics at Worcester State, as well as their sportsmanship, leadership and character. Additionally, coaches and others who have contributed to the athletics mission at Worcester State have been recognized. More recently, honorary members who have contributed to athletics in the community and the world at large, may also be recognized.

Eligibility:
Alumni of the University-(Up to five)
Any alumna or alumnus who actively participated in athletics and brought recognition and honor to Worcester State through their outstanding achievement while a student -athlete(playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character and overall contribution to the team or teams). The candidate must have graduated at least five (5) years prior from WSU to be eligible for consideration.
Honorary Inductee- (One)
The individual may or may not possess a degree from Worcester State University. An individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and length of service as a contributor to athletics/sports through coaching, clinics, writing, organizations, support of Worcester State athletics, as an administrator, in volunteer work, or achievement in professional athletics or international sport organizations.
Varsity and Club Team Award-(One)
A team that has won an NCAA/ NCAA Regional or ECAC Championship. Exceptions shall involve New England State College Regional Conference Championships won prior to 1970. Exceptions may also be made for club teams that reached significant, national championships. The team must have competed at least ten (10) years prior to the induction ceremony at which they will be honored.
The Hall of Fame Committee meets every other spring to select the upcoming class. An announcement follows in the late Spring for a Fall induction date. Each of the inductees will have their likeness displayed on the Athletics Hall of Fame wall, which is located in the Wellness Center. Worcester State University Athletics very much appreciates your interest and support.
If a nomination is not selected for induction, the committee will continue to consider their nomination application for six years (three classes), for future review and consideration, or unless the nominee has been selected prior to that term of eligibility. If they have not been chosen by year six the nominator will be asked to resubmit a nomination form.
