Thank you for your interest in supporting the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) based in Saratoga Springs, NY!
As the oldest and largest Thoroughbred rescue in the United States, our organization provides sanctuary to those retired racehorses who are unable to pursue a second athletic career. We currently care for a herd of 500+ valiant, aging athletes living in 14 farms, in 8 states, and in 8 TRF Second Chances Program - including our newest farm: the TRF Second Chances Farm at Wyoming Correctional Facility (Attica, NY).
In 2023, the TRF team is celebrating our 40th anniversary of Saving Horses and Changing Lives. There are many ways to get involved!
This application is designed to help the TRF assess each individual's level of interest, experience and availability across all of our programs. Once we receive your information, one of our Volunteer Coordinators will be in touch to welcome you, to learn a bit more about you and to share details about our upcoming volunteer opportunities (dates, times, locations & expectations). We welcome volunteers from across the country and around the world, as many of our volunteer projects can be undertaken remotely.
By completing this form, you are granting permission for the TRF to add your name and personal information to our database for future communication from the TRF to keep you informed of our programs. Completion of the form does not guarantee an assignment of a volunteer role, nor does it commit the applicant to any expectation from the TRF.
