Member Involvement can be through your membership support, your participation in public and members‘ meetings, and/or your engagement in member-only INFORMATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL meetings and VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES. If interested in attending informational meetings or volunteering, please answer the questions below.
2022-23 MEMBER INFORMATION/EDUCATION: Most public and member meetings occur Sept, Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb, March & April.  May is our Annual Membership Meeting.  Meetings can be in-person or by Zoom. You do not need to sign up to attend community education and voter education meetings. However, you do need to sign up to receive invitations and zoom links for Action meetings and Discussion Units.
ACTION COMMITTEE. Action (Debbie Aiona, action@lwvpdx.org): Presentations & information for members on topics the LWVPDX is studying, has testified on, has written letters about, or otherwise taken action. Speakers are often elected officials, and agency or nonprofit leaders. This is an excellent way to get involved with issues on which the League is working. These Zoom meetings are held 1:30-3:30 pm, the 4th Friday. November's meeting may be adjusted for Thanksgiving.  Our website (lwvpdx.org/action-committee) and "The Voter" newsletter have information about Action Committee meetings.
2022-23 DISCUSSION UNITS (DU's) - Carolyn Buppert, units@lwvpx.org: DU’s are small group monthly meetings for members to deepen knowledge of current local & state issues. By signing up below you will receive an email from the DU Leader before each DU meeting. The usual days and times for DU meetings can be found in the LWVPDX monthly Voter newsletter or the information on our website (https://lwvpdx.org/join-us/join-a-discussion-unit/).  DU’s may be in-person or on Zoom. You can also switch between DU’s. Need help deciding on a DU? Contact Carolyn Buppert..
If you now attend a Discussion Unit, please enter its number below.
2022-23 LWVPDX VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: If you want to volunteer, consider checking (X) one or two areas of involvement, in which you have or would like to learn skills. Please feel free to contact the League member listed to learn if this volunteer opportunity would be a good fit for you. Let the leader know specifically how you are willing to help. You can also look for volunteer opportunities in the monthly newsletter, The Voter, and then respond to these LWV of Portland volunteer needs.
