PYC Auditions 2022-2023
Congratulations on taking your first step to singing with Pacific Youth Choir!  Please fill out the form below and we will contact you to schedule an audition time with John Baker.

Things you should know: 
All accepted high school singers will sing in 2 choirs:
-Pacific (SATB mixed choir)
and
-Coro Pacifica (SSAA Treble Choir)
or
-Tsunami (TTBB Changed voices)
**NOTE: Non-binary and Transgender singers placement in Coro Pacifica or Tsunami are evaluated on an individual basis through conversations between the singer and Directors. 

All accepted Middle School Singers (6th-8th grades, 5th grade with conductor permission) will sing in 2 choirs:
-Cascadia (mixed gender choir, unchanged voices)
and
-Rapids (female, female identifying, and non-binary singers)
or
-Rogue (male, male identifying, and non-binary singers, unchanged voices)
**NOTE: Non-binary and Transgender singers placement in Rapids or Rogue are evaluated on an individual basis through conversations between the singer and Directors.

Rehearsals!
Every PYC choir rehearses every Sunday with exceptions for major holidays and breaks such as Winter, Spring, and Summer breaks. All rehearsals take place at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Times are subject to change.  

Nova 1 (K-2nd grades): 1-1:40 pm
Nova 2 (3rd-5th grades): 2-2:50pm
Cascadia (5th-8th grades): 3-4:50pm (includes Rapids/Rogue rehearsals)
Pacific (9th-12th grades): 5:30-8pm (includes Coro Pacifica/Tsunami rehearsals)

We will contact you to schedule time to audition. We prefer new singers to attend a full Sunday rehearsal to see if we are a good fit for you. Often, the Directors will conduct your audition before or after rehearsal or at the break time during rehearsal.

Please prepare a song that showcases your range and ability.  Please be able to sing your song without piano accompaniment. Directors will also have you sing various vocal exercises to get a better idea of your instrument. Auditions can last as long as 10 minutes and you will be told the outcome at the end of the audition.
