This year at PyCon US a Community Organizers Summit has been accepted into the PyCon Hatchery Program!
This summit is intended for anyone who either has organized, is currently organizing, or wants to organize community events.
This year we have space in our schedule for 3 speakers to present "conference talks" about how the organize in their community. The summit will be May 18, 2024 from 10:30am - 2:30pm. Talks will be first on the agenda and take place from 10:30am - 12:00pm
Talks should be 25 minutes in length and will have a 5 minute Q&A after.
No talks will be recorded.
If you're interested in speaking at the Community Organizer Summit, please submit your proposal here. Some topics we are interested in but not limited to are:
- Navigating/Rebuilding meetups/conferences after COVID
- Building online communities
- Alternative approaches to funding events
- Running a successful hybrid/virtual conference
- Finding and selecting venues
- Tips for new organizes
- How to start a meetup from scratch
- etc.
If you don't see your topic on the list, submit it! All ideas are welcome. We look forward to reviewing your submissions.
