Purpose: Discipleship

This is an opportunity for students to learn and grow through a mentorship program with a member of the church.

Highlights from SAC Core Values:

Transforming Discipleship - Helping every person grow spiritually, moving from where they are to a deeper trust in and obedience to Christ (Colossians 2:6-7).
Equipping Relationships - Building intentional relationships in order to be encouraged, supported, and equipped for life and ministry (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Loving People - Without minimizing the truth and consequence of sin, we welcome, accept, care for and value every person as important to God (1 Timothy 2:3-5 or 2 Peter 3:9, Ephesians 4:32).

What is PATH?

P - Prayer A - Accountability T - Teaching H - Honour

Commitment:

Meeting with your mentor/mentee once or twice per month.
Reading through a book or listening to a podcast together with your mentor/mentee.
Keeping record of date/time of each meeting.
Being honest and open to conversation with your mentor/mentee.

For the Mentor:
A mentor is an adult member of the congregation who has an intentional desire to see the personal and spiritual growth of a student in youth ministry. A mentor will:

Seek personal growth in their faith and relationship with Jesus.
Commit to help a student in their walk with Jesus.
Pray for and with a student regularly.
Be an example for a student in every aspect of their life.

A mentor will be available to ask questions and provide guidance for a student mentee - you are not required to have all the answers for the student, but to help walk with them through life and the victories and challenges they may face.

For the Mentee:
A mentee is a youth student who is willing to listen and learn from a mentor in a relational setting. A mentee will:

Seek guidance and advice from their mentor.
Ask intentional questions and be honest with their mentor.
Be responsible for organization of meetings with their mentor.

A mentee is a student who will commit to the responsibilities outlined and honours the time commitment of their mentor to this program.
