Canadian Improv Games Producer (Regional) Application Form
The Canadian Improv Games is looking for qualified individuals to produce our regional programming.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Canadian Improv Games (CIG) in a federally-incorporated charity organization based in Ottawa, ON. Each year CIG fulfills its charitable mandate to empower youth by leading education programs, improv training sessions and performances in cities across Canada. These initiatives are often coordinated by locally-based, experienced producers who, in partnership with CIG’s Executive and Board of Directors, carries out CIG’s youth education activities on behalf of the charity during the school year.
Producer Responsibilities:
- Execute production of the Canadian Improv Games regional tournament and other approved events (Coaches Coffee, All Teams, Ex Round, etc) in a specifically defined geographical area.
- Has a willingness to work with the charity’s national team to help coordinate and produce improvisational programming with specific artistic goals.
- Lead up to ten training sessions.
- Operates under a defined event budget, reporting monthly to GM.
- Facilitates bookings with approved venues (high school auditorium, community centre etc) for CIG events.
- Must have an updated Vulnerable Sector Record Check and ensure all production co-staff (if applicable) and volunteers have one as well (must be received by the National Office prior to the first event you produce).
- Oversee the recruitment, training and management of volunteers and ensure that the CIG rules, codes of conduct and artistic vision are followed at all times.
- Respond to all emails sent to you within 48 hours.
- Liaise regularly with the national staff and committees to provide updates on regional programs.
Assist with fundraising goals to support production in the region.
