Please come join us for year three in the Straw Bale Garden. Our Kick Off Planting Day is Saturday May 15th from 9 am to 12 pm.  The garden is located right next to the Bourbonnais Public Library. We will have volunteer helpers available if this is your first time. (It is not hard). We will have plants available (Tomatoes, Peppers, A mix of flowers and other vegetables) but you can also bring your own plants and/or seeds. It is okay if you cannot make the kick off planting date. We will make sure that you can get your plants and know the location of your bales. We will be sharing a list of things you might need such as a water can or a tool to create a hole in the bale. The cost for a bale with plants is $6.00 per bale. If you want your bales to have wire trellising in place it is $7.00 per bale. We will show you a picture of what this looks like before you choose. You can pay on the planting day in May or you can stop by the Central Office at 281 W. John Casey to pay. You can pay by check to BESD 53 or cash. If you have never gardened before that is okay, we can walk you through it and help you along the way. It is a lot of fun and a great way to meet people and grow some fresh food or flowers.
