Alumni Support Principles of AMP
While the program is offered to outside participants and needs to be priced to the market, we have made extra effort to create special support for you as our alumni. Support principles are the following:
1. The program is fellowship-based for all alumni. Participation for alumni will be at zero tuition costs or significantly below the market value available to outside participants.
2. Support will be differentiated. There will be two types of fellowships supporting alumni with differentiated needs. There will be full fellowships for alumni who have no financial capacity or ability to receive support from their organizations and partial fellowships for alumni who can afford to cover part of the costs through their organizations (HR budgets) or personally.
3. All alumni are eligible to receive full fellowships, irrespectively whether they represent a business or non-business sector. We do not want to deprive alumni from business to access full fellowships because they, too, can occasionally face more difficult personal situations. Yet, do take care: it is very important for the whole community that those alumni who have access to HR budgets, do use them, because it helps offer support for other alumni.
4. There will be space for alumni-to-alumni support - we are community. Alumni will have options to choose special contributions with extra benefits to them, their organizations and fellow alumni. This means that alumni who can occasionally contribute more and want to create special value for their organizations will not only secure added benefits for themselves, but will also support those alumni who are in more need.
5. Full fellowships will also come with the possibility of volunteering work for our community. It seems right that those who do not have financial resources still have the opportunity to give back to the community.
6. There will be always a small registration fee for all participants (on full and partial fellowships) to avoid cases of no show-ups. It’s important for the whole community to reduce situations where fellowships as well as energy and resources get lost because people don’t participate in the registered program.
7. There will be always full fellowships offered, even if there is oversubscription of application from outside paid or part fellowships-based participants. We want to avoid situations where alumni who are weaker financially are deprived of AMP opportunities because seats are distributed on financial principles. However, as the number of full fellowships will be limited as the program needs financial basis - so partial fellowship applicants will have naturally a bigger chance to enter the program. Alumni who will choose special contributions will in principle have a place secured, provided that the principle of “always having full fellowships” is sustained.
8. The number of seats and fellowships. Center for Leadership as a sponsor of LAP alumni will always guarantee a number of full fellowships. The overall support level will be varied depending on the program, staff and professor’s costs. Additional fellowships can be created by alumni and new partners wishing to get involved in our mission.
