Dear all,
In previous years we have come together and generously donated over 250kg of items to the Institute’s nearest foodbank the Euston Foodbank. Due to the coronavirus pandemic we cannot collect items this year but we would still like to come together to support those in need. There are two ways we think it’s best to do this:
1.
If you are able to support your local foodbank, we would like to include a running total of our combined efforts. Whether you are able to donate items, money or time to your local foodbank please fill in the details on this page (anonymously if you prefer) and/or use the twitter hashtag #ICHfoodbank to help us keep a running total.
2.
We have set up a donation page,
https://notyourchristmasparty.trusselltrust.org/s/341/338/t if you would rather donate money to an ICH collection going directly to the Trussell Trust
Any help is greatly appreciated, this year has been a very difficult one but especially for those who need foodbanks. More than 1.2 million emergency food parcels were given out by the Trussell Trust between 1st April and 30th September 2020, making it the busiest ever half-year period for food banks; over 470,000 of these parcels went to children. This winter, food banks are expecting to give out an emergency parcel every 9 seconds.
Thank you for your help.
Emma and Helen
