Created by the MASC/MAHS Board of Delegates in 2002, the Tonya Charity Award honors past MASC/MAHS Director Tonya Chmielewski, who served the association from 1997-2001. Tonya was dedicated to focusing the work of our association with statewide charity projects, so this award honors the school that has the greatest philanthropy effort for the MASC/MAHS Charity of the Year. Each year, we honor the school that raises the most amount of money per student enrolled in their building. The MASC/MAHS Board has selected this process in order to even the field for schools with larger or smaller enrollment. The official attendance count for your building must be included on your donation form to be considered. Only donations received on or before the awards due date will be considered for this honor, however you may continue to donate to the charity for the remainder of the school year.
