Transform Computer Science: Engaging Utah’s Educators in Preparing Future Leaders
With generous support from the Community Foundation of Utah, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) will provide Utah educators with professional learning on computer science, computational thinking, artificial intelligence, and innovative strategies for using technology to support learning. Through the program, Utah educators can receive a limited number of scholarships and stipends for participation in the programs outlined below:

ISTE Certification
  • Internationally recognized credential for educators who have demonstrated mastery of the ISTE Standards and implemented innovative uses of technology to transform learning
  • To earn certification, you’ll complete 40 hours live, instructor-led professional learning over 10 weeks, then 40 hours to assemble an e-portfolio that includes artifacts and reflections on your learning over six months
  • $1,000 stipend for successful completion
  • Program Dates: 10/30/24 - 11/30/25 or 01/29/25 - 02/28/26
ISTE Artificial Intelligence Course
  • Self-paced, instructor-led online course introducing educators to AI for learning and its application in the classroom (15-hours)
  • $65 stipend for course completion
  • Course Dates: 10/07/24 - 12/09/24 or 02/10/25 - 04/06/25
  • Self-paced, instructor-led online course designed to deepen your understanding of Computational Thinking and develop strategies for integrating Computational Thinking across subject areas and grade levels (15-hours)
  • $65 stipend for course completion
  • Course Dates: 9/26/24 - 11/16/24 or 01/13/25 - 03/13/25
ISTE Computational Thinking Pathway
  • Open to educators who have completed the ISTE Computational Thinking Course
  • Virtual workshop on Computational Thinking to deepen learning from the course (3 hours)
  • Earn up to three Computational Thinking microcredentials by curating practical artifacts (CT Learner, CT Designer, and CT Facilitator) 
  • Up to $225 stipend for completing the full microcredential pathway
  • Pathway Dates: 11/23/24 - 04/06/25 or 03/22/25 - 09/30/25
All participants will receive free ISTE Membership (webinars, topic guides, two free ebooks, discounts for ISTE events, etc.).
