No More Mowing
For Uncle Harry, the grass outside his home was becoming too much trouble to take care of. He lived in the desert of Las Vegas, Nevada. It was hot most of the year, and his water bill was becoming very expensive. In the summer, he had to water his lawn twice a day. In the winter, the grass would burn brown when the temperature got too cold. He decided to dig out his lawn and put colored rocks down instead.
First, he dug out all the grass down to the roots. Next, he smoothed out the dirt and made it flat. After that, he rolled out some thick plastic over the dirt to keep grass and weeds from growing through. Finally, he opened the bags of rock he had bought and spread them out with a rake until the area was covered.
Harry was happy with his work, and glad he didn’t have to water or mow anymore.
