Safe Sanctuary Training

God calls us to make our churches safe places, protecting children and other vulnerable persons from abuse. God calls us to create communities of faith where children and adults grow safe and strong. Safe Sanctuaries is our response to this church wide challenge, and is the United Methodist recommended resource for ensuring safety for the most vulnerable in our midst.

Newnan First United Methodist Church is hosting a Safe Sanctuaries training class on Sunday, May 19, from 12:15pm-2:00pm in the Parish Hall.

If you work with children, youth, disabled or older adults, you will need to participate. (VBS volunteers, Sunday School teachers, Youth volunteers, senior adults, bus drivers, etc.) This training and certificate must be re-completed every two years, and a background check every three. Given the timing of our last training, there is a high likelihood that you need to renew your certificate if you have done the training before.

We will provide lunch and drinks to all participants who RSVP by May 15. If you're signing up more people, please fill out a form for each individual person. Thank you!
