Pocono Plateau Homeschool Days
We are excited to offer outdoor learning and exploration experiences for our local homeschool community. Pocono Plateau Camp & Retreat Center is in Cresco, situated on 750 acres with 2 lakes, 8 miles of hiking trails, and beautiful scenery. We have a nature center, craft room, outdoor fire pits for cooking experiments, gaga, 9 square in the air, boating, archery, fishing, and more!

We are a faith based Christian camp and retreat center. We plan to offer two options for homeschool families to participate: 1 Secular and 1 Christian focused. Secular days will be the 1st Wednesday of the month and Christian days will be the 3rd Wednesday of the month. 

General Timeline:
10:00 - 10:30am: Arrive/Park/Check In: 
10:30 - 11:00: All Group Morning Gathering: Introductions, Information, Songs, Skits, etc.
11:00 - 11:30am: Staff Led Age Specific Games/Ice Breaker Activities
11:30 - 1:00pm: Staff Led Stations, families can rotate between various camp activities.
1:00 - 3:00pm: After we wrap up, families are welcome to stay and hike on the trails, bring a picnic lunch, play gaga or basketball, and enjoy the grounds until 3pm. All guests should leave by 3pm. 

Homeschool Days will happen regardless of weather. We can move indoors if there is rain or cold temps.

The cost is $5 per participating child for ages 4 through 18. Adults are not charged. 
  • Parent/guardians must remain on site, this is not a drop off event. You are welcome to participate or observe.   
  • Younger siblings not participating in activities are welcome to attend but will be under the supervision of the parent/guardian. 
What to bring: Water bottle, close toed shoes/sneakers, towel in case you get wet if we boat, lots of energy! Not required, but you are welcome to bring a packed lunch and eat on our site (or in our Dining Hall when colder temps).
