Fall Tree and Shrub Planting - Registration
Sheridan’s Mission Zero team is partnering with Credit Valley Conservation Authority (CVC) for tree and shrub planting at the Davis Campus this fall.

We are planning to plant over 120 native trees and shrubs of diverse species in the woodland area near Davis Residence and C Wing. Through these new trees and shrubs, we are aiming to restore the woodland habitat in the area. This is part of our effort to support campus biodiversity and fight against climate change.

This project has the following benefits, among others:
The tree and shrub plantings will create habitat for birds, pollinating insects such as bees and butterflies, and other wildlife.
As the new trees and shrubs mature, they will provide shade which helps cool down the temperature around the area thus reducing urban heat island effect.
The roots of the trees and shrubs will also prevent soil erosion and improve groundwater filtration and reduces flooding.

Credit Valley Conservation's (CVC) Covid-19 Guidelines:

The well-being of our participants and staff is our top priority. We are following provincial and local regulations regarding COVID-19 guidelines for outdoor gatherings. We will do everything we can to ensure participants maintain physical distancing at our events. If this is not possible, staff and participants will be asked to wear a mask.
• If Participating Landowners have their own COVID-19 protocols, the maximum mitigation measures should be applied
• Outdoor event capacity for CVC events will be determined by the applicable Public Health response framework guidelines on limits for outdoor organized public events and social gatherings.
• COVID-19 pre-screening is required for all CVC events.

Stay home if you are feeling sick, if you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive, or are self-isolating
o Participants will be required to practice physical distancing and best hygiene practices to ensure compliance with local and provincial COVID-19 guidelines
o Bring your own mask. You should ensure your mask covers the nose, mouth and chin completely and comfortably without gaping.
IMPORTANT: Neck gaiters, bandanas and masks with valves are not recommended as per Health Canada as they do not effectively protect from COVID-19, nor do they limit the spread of the virus.
