Artist-in-Residence the after-image presents: Flow Up! The Catharty Quest Continues

Voyagers, we’ve got some challenging news. Meteors may flash and burn as they enter our atmosphere, but the quest for catharsis is an extended journey of saying goodbye, hello, and goodbye over and over again. Look around the night sky, space sailors. You are not alone on your eccentric orbit and your fellow voyagers have left behind beautiful debris. Even if old stories seem to return to you with the tides, your heart is already waxing and waning into the deep unknown, so grab onto the space junk all around and let it spark in you the possibility of something new.

You may have begun your quest for catharsis at Let’s Exorcise! or you may be taking your first steps towards transformation at Flow Up! today. No matter where you find yourself, look to the lunar leaders in your midst and buckle up. All you need for your journey is an object from your past; return to the artifact you offered up at Let’s Exorcise! or bring any thing from which you are ready to move on. The journey towards who you might become is infinite and we’re all in it together.

What artifact could you bring?
● Any THING that you want to: release of its hold on you, wrest of its power, or get the hell out of your home.
● Digital things (text messages, emails, screenshots of dating app chats...) are fair game, but print them out or write them down for ease of use.
● Bring whatever you need to bring, BUT to protect everyone’s identities REDACT any last names, faces, addresses, phone numbers...we’ll also have redaction tools on site.

Are there any artifacts that are off limits?
● Live animals (be reasonable, folks)
● All the shit you can’t bring on an airplane

WARNING: Your object will land in the hands of a fellow space sailor and may not return to you. Only bring along an artifact that you are really ready to let go. OR JUST BRING YOURSELF; we’ll have debris to light your path.

Capacity in the lab is capped at 40 audience members at a time. Attendees who have RSVP'd before the event will have priority, and admission will be determined on a first come first serve basis on arrival. If you RSVP before the event but you arrive late, we reserve the right to give your spot to someone on the waitlist. 

Attendees who have not RSVP'd will be put on a standby waitlist if they arrive in-person before the event.
