We are in the third week of the Advent season.  Watch this video and listen to the story of the Visitation.  As you listen, think about a time when you were excited for a special event in your life.
What words do people use to describe the first Christmas?
Did you know that Noel comes from a French word that means Christmas?  A popular Christmas carol, "The First Noel" describes how people responded to Jesus' birth on the first Christmas over 2,000 years ago.  Listen to the lyrics of the song in this video.
This carol talks about two groups--- poor shepherds and rich wise men--- and how both groups respond to Jesus in the same way.  They worship him. Read the following Bible passages to see how the prophecy played a role in how the shepherds and wise men chose to respond that first Christmas. The song ends by encouraging us to respond to Jesus with worship. (Check the box when you have read the scripture.)
What do you think the darkness and light represent in Isaiah? Give an example in your life where there was darkness, and then light broke through.
How did the wise men respond when they found out what they were looking for?
Identify one simple thing you can do to worship and honor God this week.
What are you going to do?
When are you going to do it?
How will you remind yourself to follow through on this one thing?
Merry Christmas to you all and your families!  I hope that you have blessed Christmas, and I will see you in January.  Before you go for the week, take a listen to one of my favorite Christmas songs and music groups.
