About the Lecture / À propos de la conférence
The work of the Argentinian sculptor Alicia Rosario Pérez Penalba (1913- 1982), took off in Paris in the 1950s. Her career during these years, and the friendships she forged in artistic and intellectual circles (Lam , Matisse, Giacometti,…) were decisive for the construction of a unique path in post-war abstract sculpture. Retracing her journey in post-war Paris allows us to reintroduce an important work which, in France, has fallen into culpable oblivion.
