If you are here, you potentially have been involved in a harmful situation in Jewish Farmer Network (JFN) community spaces. The team at Jewish Farmer Network is deeply sorry for whatever harm you may have experienced and continue to be experiencing. This form and our Community Accountability process exist because we deeply love and care about our community. This process is central to our commitments to the safety and healing of our community.
This form accompanies JFN's Community Norms and Accountability statements. Please read both documents before filling out this form.
https://www.jewishfarmernetwork.org/communitynormshttps://www.jewishfarmernetwork.org/accountability ***What is this form for?***
This form is for individuals who either caused harm or experienced harm to report a situation that occurred in a JFN community space, which includes JFN programs, official JFN communications, and individual communications with JFN team members. Whenever both possible and safe, JFN strongly encourages individuals to reach out to each other directly to resolve harm. This form is for instances when direct contact is not currently a safe option and/or when additional support from JFN is required.
We are defining harm as, “Some form of injury to a person, group or community. This injury can be of many types: physical, financial, emotional, sexual, spiritual, environmental and so on.” (Creative Interventions Toolkit, Section 5, Page 3 –
https://www.creative-interventions.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/CI-Toolkit-Final-Section-5-Other-Resources-Aug-2020.pdf)
***What is this form NOT for?***
This form is not for harm that occurred outside the Jewish Farmer Network community, which is beyond the scope of JFN's ability to respond. This form is not for interpersonal conflict. This form is not for harm in which it is both safe and possible for impacted parties to address the harm directly without additional support.
We are defining conflict as strong disagreement. A key question to ask when differentiating between conflict and harm is: "Is the harmed party unsafe or uncomfortable?" (Fumbling Towards Repair, p33 –
https://just-practice.org/fumbling-towards-repair) Conflicts often bring up discomfort, but they are not inherently unsafe. If you are unsure whether this situation is harm or conflict, please submit the form, and the JFN team will be glad to navigate this question with you.
***Who will see my form submission?***
Only Shani Mink, JFN Executive Director/Co-Founder, and SJ Seldin, JFN Board Chair/Co-Founder, have access to this form. You will be asked in this form if this information can be shared with any additional people.
***Can I submit anonymously? What happens then?***
You have the right to submit this form anonymously. If you do not include your contact information, JFN's ability to respond is limited by the information you provide. Please include as much information as possible, as we will be unable to follow up to ask clarifying questions. Anonymous submissions will be reviewed by Shani and SJ, who will discuss how to proceed given the information provided.
***If I include my contact information, what happens after I submit?***
If you choose to include your contact information, either Shani or SJ will reach out within 1 week to have a follow up conversation. This conversation will be an opportunity for you to share more information, for JFN folks to ask clarifying questions, and for us start the process of understanding how to seek repair for all parties together.
If you consented for this information to be shared with others, it is possible that another member of JFN's team will reach out instead. If you need to hear back on a different timeline, there is an opportunity to share your timing needs in this form. JFN will get back to you on your requested timeline to the best of our ability.
Jewish Farmer Network is committed to supporting you and this process of community accountability to the best of our ability, which includes being honest and transparent about our limitations. It is possible that Jewish Farmer Network does not have the necessary skills or capacity to respond to this situation in the ways that either you want and/or the situation requires. In that case, Jewish Farmer Network is committed to connecting you to additional resources for support, to the best of our ability.
